New Hope is a borough located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope has historically been a popular location for Broadway shows to be fine tuned before hitting the stage in New York, and many famous Broadway stars have owned homes in the area. New Hope was once known as Coryell’s Ferry for the owner of a ferry business that brought travelers across the Delaware River, but was renamed “New Hope” after the town was rebuilt following a massive fire in 1790 which destroyed several mills in the area.
